Alzheimer’s Society Cake Sale



Last week, Astutians channelled Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood to bake cakes for the Alzheimer’s Society Cupcake Day.  £105 was raised from the event which will be used to support Alzheimer’s Society fight this awful disease.  Thank you to everyone who baked (and ate!) cakes!

Dragon Boat Charity Challenge @Poole Park



Last Saturday, a team of Astutians, “The Astute Warriors” took part in the Poole Park Dragon Boat Race.  This fantastic event was organised by Stable Family Home Trust – Supporting adults with learning disabilities across Dorset & Hampshire.  Everyone involved had an amazing day competing on the water and we’re already looking forward to signing up for next year’s event!!

Hospital Radio Bedside Charity Donation



We are delighted to support Hospital Radio Bedside who do an important job entertaining the very sick and vulnerable in our local hospitals in Dorset.  Specifically – we would like to thank The iKIDZ Radio Show – on HRB Saturday kids show.  Presenter Adrian Boyd’s tireless energy, optimism and creativity makes the show an outstanding 2 hours fun for Children on wards.  This has been recognised as Adrian and his co-presenters were awarded Silver at The National Hospital Radio Awards…

Wellbeing, Fitness & Health Check-Ups



A huge thanks to the team at Village Gym for visiting us onsite yesterday and providing our staff with a Wellbeing, Fitness & Health Check-Up.  In total, over 100 Astutians had their Blood Pressure, Height and Weight Ratio, Muscle Mass, Metabolic Age and Vistula Fat measured and assessed throughout the day.  Employee wellbeing is such an important subject for any employer so we appreciate your help keeping our staff fighting fit!!

Pool Tournament



Astute’s Pool Tournament has now become a hotly contested annual event.  This year was no different with 20 Astutians competing for the trophy.  As with any competition, there can only be one winner and this year the title was won by TomTom Odley.  A great evening was had by all raising funds for Stroke Association.  As always, thank you to the team at Sharkeys Sports Bar Bournemouth for hosting the event.
