YGO-TCG Bournemouth

YGO-TCG Bournemouth is a club is for children and young adults who play a trading card game called Yu-Gi-Oh. Many members have an ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder), ranging from high-functioning Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome to dyslexia and speech impediments.

Because people with an ASD often struggle in social situations, the club allows them to meet and interact with like-minded others in a safe and structured location. It also helps with reading and maths, due to the way the game itself is played, and in the few short months since the club has been open, it has made a noticeable difference to the confidence of its members.

Astute is keen to support local community initiatives like this, and because the Yu-Gi-Oh game holds regular large regional and national events, we designed, printed and provided the club with T-shirts to help members find each other should they attend an event outside the weekly club meet.
