Astute Summer Party 2015

This weekend, the Bournemouth Air Festival came to town – which can mean only one thing: it’s time for the legendary Astute Summer Party on the beach! The venue this year was Koh Thai Lounge pop-up venue on the beach between the piers, and with the drinks flowing, the Air Show overhead, bongo rhythms in our ears, and fantastic Thai tapas in our bellies, everyone had a fantastic night.

New Forest Aqua Park

Astute does Total Wipeout! 60 Astutians gathered early one Sunday morning at New Forest Water Park, ready to take on the UK’s very first Aqua Park. Wetsuits – check. Game faces – check. Dignity left safely at the door – check. Everyone had a fantastic time negotiating the floating, inflatable obstacle course. All that was missing was Richard Hammond’s commentary!

Bournemouth Beach Soccer Championships

Huge congratulations to Jack, one of our specialists, who as part of Townsend Spartans, came in as runners-up in the semi-pro The Bournemouth Beach Soccer Championships this month. In one of their Group Stage matches they won 9-0, and progressed smoothly to the final, where they faced Portsmouth Beach Soccer (featuring England beach soccer internationals), who won the day 4-0 before going on to the overall tournament champions game, where they were beaten by Eastleigh Spitfires. Incredible result – well…
